[Day 6 PO]
I saw Dr. Krau again today and he said they look beautiful. Including the bruised nipple. THANK GOD. For a while there, I was afraid that it would turn black and die, but the purplish is turning red, and some spots are even lighter apricot/pink now. I can tell it's starting to look like it's sister-nipple, and will improve with time. I'm just glad there's no tissue damage or necrosis! This was one of the main reasons I wanted to avoid a lift. I'm just prone to complications in general no matter the procedure or reason. I also got a really good look at my incisions for the first time today in Krau's huge mirror with his studio lighting. I was surprised to see that he gave me the smallest incisions possible. I was really concerned about this also when it comes to the lift, but I knew that if anyone was going to do the best job with scar placement and camouflage, it's Krau. What I initially assumed was an anchor scar (because both breasts were taped all the way across my crease) is actually not. He gave me an L-shaped incision (basically 2/3 of an anchor) on the left breast, and a lollipop on the right. He told me I'm good-to-go on visits, and can come back in 3 months if I want to, but not necessary again until 6 months.
Additionally, today I received my operative report and a breakdown of his costs:
When we consulted in person in May, he was sure he could do the procedure without a lift, by way of implants, lowering my crease, and transferring fat to my lower pole. As a result of the virtual consultation, I was originally quoted $6,500.00 USD total: $5,500 for the implant/augmentation, and $1,000 for the fat transfer.
However, when I arrived at his office for my pre-op appointment, he confirmed I needed a lift. So I was given a new quote and total: $8,900 USD = $5,500 for the implants, $2,400 for the nipple lift, and $1,000 for the lipo of the armpits. (I threw armpit lipo on there during my pre-op visit...SO WORTH IT!)
